Conrad Wetzel - Anna Catharine BayerConrad Wetzel, husbandman, was born 1697 at Walderseifer, Germany. He came to Pennsylvania 1720 or earlier and settled in Northampton County, Pennsyslvania. In April 1729, he married Anna Catharine Bayer. who was born June 24, 1709 near Oppau, Rheinland-Phalz, Germany the daughter of Adam Beyer and wife Maria. Anna Catharine died Dec. 10, 1764, Macungie Twsp., Northampton County, Pennsylanvia, and Conrad 5 April 1753. They were both buried in the Moravian Cemetery at Emmanus, Pennsylvania. A Patent was issued to Conrad Wetzel Feb 25, 1734, in Lower Milford, Northampton County Pennsylvania for 145 acres, 53 perches. He failed the conditions of the Warrant and it was transferred to Peter Moyer Jan 10, 1749. A second Warrant was issued to Conrad Wetzel in 1748 for 164 acres. It was sold in 1753 to George Stahlnecker. Conrad and Anna Catharine had 9 children: John, Catharine, Conrad, Henry, Maria Magdalena, Gertrud, Maria, Jacob and Anna Maria.
